MedStar Health is looking for an exceptional, passionate Patient Care Technician to join our team! Our ideal candidate is a patient-focused team player who is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for providing a variety of clinical, technical, and administrative tasks to support the patient care team. We require that applicants have a High School Diploma or GED, and at least one year of experience as a CNA, Medical Assistant, or similar role. The successful candidate should also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and be able to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. A valid state-issued certification or license is required, as well as the ability to pass a background check. Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in providing patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and documenting in patient charts.
  2. Assist with clinical tasks such as preparing equipment and supplies, taking and recording patient histories, and collecting and processing lab specimens.
  3. Provide administrative support to the patient care team, including scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, and filing paperwork.
  4. Ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with patient safety protocols and applicable regulations.
  5. Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to facilitate patient care.
  7. Demonstrate a commitment to patient care excellence and a culture of safety.
  8. Stay up to date on the latest changes in the healthcare field and best practices.
  9. Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  10. Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards of practice.
