
Patient Care Technician
MedStar Health is looking for an exceptional, passionate Patient Care Technician to join our team! The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for providing a variety of clinical, technical, and administrative tasks to support the patient care team. We require that applicants have a High School Diploma or GED, and at least one year of experience as a CNA, Medical Assistant, or similar role. The successful candidate should also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and be able to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. A valid state-issued certification or license is required, as well as the ability to pass a background check. Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and documenting in patient charts.
- Assist with clinical tasks such as preparing equipment and supplies, taking and recording patient histories, and collecting and processing lab specimens.
- Provide administrative support to the patient care team, including scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, and filing paperwork.
- Ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with patient safety protocols and applicable regulations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to facilitate patient care.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient care excellence and a culture of safety.
- Stay up to date on the latest changes in the healthcare field and best practices.
- Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards of practice.
