Palliative Care - Medical Director

At MedStar Health, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Medical Director of Palliative Care to lead our team in providing the highest quality of care to our patients. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the unique needs of those receiving palliative care, and a strong commitment to providing comfort and compassion to those facing serious illness.The successful candidate will have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited medical school, board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and at least five years of clinical experience in palliative care. Responsibilities:

1. Lead and direct the clinical team to provide the highest quality of palliative care to all patients.
2. Establish and maintain relationships with other medical providers, as well as outside organizations or resources, in order to ensure the best care for patients.
3. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective delivery of care.
5. Monitor patient outcomes and provide feedback to providers and staff.
6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure that standards of care are met.
7. Manage the team’s budget and resources.
8. Develop and lead educational programs for providers and staff.
9. Participate in research activities related to palliative care.
10. Represent the organization at professional meetings and conferences.
