  1. Perform surgical procedures, including complex trauma surgeries, on patients with musculoskeletal injuries and disorders.
  2. Apply knowledge of orthopedic and trauma surgery techniques, technologies, and best practices to provide high-quality care to patients.
  3. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and provide coordinated care to patients.
  4. Maintain a current and thorough understanding of the latest advancements in orthopedic and trauma surgery, and incorporate them into practice.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive understanding of treatment plans and procedures.
  6. Provide guidance and supervision to residents and fellows, as well as participate in teaching and mentoring activities.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and sterile surgical environment.
  8. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, including medical records, surgical reports, and other necessary documentation.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing protocols and guidelines for orthopedic and trauma surgery.
  10. Continuously engage in professional development activities to stay current on advancements in orthopedic and trauma surgery.
  11. Collaborate with other departments within the organization to develop and implement best practices for patient care and safety.
  12. Uphold the mission, vision, and core values of MedStar Health in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: An Orthopedic Surgeon (Trauma) At Medstar Health Must Hold A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Residency Training In Orthopedic Surgery: Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Residency Program In Orthopedic Surgery, With A Focus On Trauma Surgery.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In Orthopedic Surgery, With A Specialization In Trauma Surgery. This Certification Must Be From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Board Of Orthopedic Surgery.

  • Experience In Trauma Surgery: Medstar Health Requires Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Practicing Orthopedic Surgeon, With A Focus On Trauma Surgery. This Experience Should Include A High Volume Of Complex Trauma Cases.

  • Licensure And Credentials: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Medical License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing, And Must Be In Good Standing With All Relevant Medical Boards And Organizations. Additional Certifications, Such As Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls), May Also Be Required.
