  1. Perform orthopedic surgeries on patients with traumatic injuries, including fractures, dislocations, and other musculoskeletal injuries.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with orthopedic injuries, utilizing the latest medical techniques and technologies.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other medical professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes.
  4. Stay up-to-date on advancements and developments in the field of orthopedic surgery, and incorporate new techniques and treatments into practice as appropriate.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physical therapists, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  6. Adhere to all medical and ethical standards, regulations, and protocols.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  8. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  9. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior medical staff, including residents and fellows.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve surgical techniques and processes to enhance patient outcomes.
  11. Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients and their families, and provide support and education to help them understand and cope with their injuries.
  12. Collaborate with hospital administration and other departments to improve the overall quality of care provided to orthopedic trauma patients.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude and contribute to a positive work environment.
  14. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
  15. Represent MedStar Health in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Qualified Candidate For An Orthopedic Surgeon (Trauma) Position At Medstar Health Should Possess An Md Or Do Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Residency Training: The Candidate Should Have Completed A 5-Year Residency Training Program In Orthopedic Surgery, With A Focus On Trauma, From A Reputable Institution.

  • Board Certification: The Candidate Should Be Board Certified In Orthopedic Surgery By The American Board Of Orthopaedic Surgery (Abos) Or Equivalent Certification From Their Country Of Origin.

  • Trauma Fellowship: A Fellowship In Orthopedic Trauma Surgery Is Highly Desired For This Position. The Candidate Should Have Completed A Fellowship In Trauma Surgery From An Accredited Institution.

  • Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Practicing Orthopedic Surgeon, With A Significant Amount Of That Experience Focused On Trauma Cases. Experience Working In A Trauma Center Or Level I Trauma Center Is Preferred.
