We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our team. As an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at MedStar Health, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients and provide comprehensive treatment for a variety of oral and facial conditions.   1. Provide high-quality patient care: Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients' oral and facial conditions, develop individualized treatment plans, and perform surgical procedures with precision and expertise.
  2. Maintain a safe and sterile environment: Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment in compliance with infection control guidelines to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals: Work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including dentists, orthodontists, and physicians, to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry developments: Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay current on the latest techniques, technologies, and research in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with patients: Establish a rapport with patients and their families, provide education about treatment options, and address any questions or concerns to ensure a positive patient experience.
  6. Adhere to ethical and legal standards: Comply with all ethical and legal standards in the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery, maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  7. Manage administrative tasks: Keep accurate and detailed patient records, submit insurance claims, and manage other administrative tasks related to patient care.
  8. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment: Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by treating colleagues with respect and professionalism, and participating in team meetings and discussions.
  9. Represent MedStar Health: Serve as a representative of MedStar Health and its commitment to exceptional patient care and community health by upholding the organization's values and mission.
  10. Participate in community outreach: Take part in community outreach events and initiatives to promote MedStar Health and its services, and to educate the public about oral and facial health.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Dental Surgery (Dds) Or Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Degree: A Candidate For An Oral And Maxillofacial Surgeon Position At Medstar Health Must Have A Professional Degree In Either Dental Surgery Or Medicine. This Provides The Necessary Foundation For The Advanced Medical Procedures Involved In This Specialty.

  • Completed Residency Program In Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery: In Addition To A Professional Degree, Candidates Must Have Completed A Residency Program In Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery. This Specialized Training Equips Them With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Surgical Procedures On The Face, Mouth, And Jaws.

  • Board Certification In Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery: Medstar Health Requires Candidates To Be Board Certified In Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery. This Certification Ensures That The Surgeon Has Met The Highest Standards Of Education, Training, And Experience In The Field.

  • Valid State Medical License: Candidates Must Possess A Valid State Medical License To Practice Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery At Medstar Health. This Is A Legal Requirement And Ensures That The Surgeon Is Qualified To Perform Surgical Procedures In The State.
