- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies for procedures.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the operating room.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other team members during procedures.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new surgical technologists.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with information and reassurance as needed.
- Document and maintain accurate records of procedures and supplies used.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Adhere to MedStar Health's policies and procedures at all times.
- Continuously assess and improve processes to increase efficiency and quality of patient care.
- Act as a valuable member of the surgical team, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technologist In An Operating Room Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Surgical Procedures, And Sterile Techniques.
Strong Organizational And Multitasking Skills To Assist In Managing The Flow Of The Operating Room.
Ability To Work Well Under Pressure And In A Fast-Paced Environment, While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Adhering To Strict Safety Protocols.
