Job Description

At MedStar Health, we are looking for a highly motivated and reliable Ophthalmic Technician to join our team and provide quality care to our patients. We are a comprehensive healthcare system located in the Baltimore/Washington region, and we strive to provide our communities with the highest quality of care.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of two years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, preferably in a clinical setting. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to multitask.We understand that our Ophthalmic Technicians are a critical part of our team and that their work is essential to providing quality care to our patients. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide quality care to patients in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  2. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when performing ophthalmic tests.
  3. Maintain patient records and provide documentation as needed.
  4. Educate patients on ophthalmic care procedures and safety protocols.
  5. Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
  6. Assure the availability of supplies and equipment needed for ophthalmic tests.
  7. Maintain a positive and professional attitude with patients and staff.
  8. Work closely with ophthalmologists to ensure optimal patient care.
  9. Assist with other duties as necessary.
