- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine technology in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and timely results for patients.
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and provide appropriate care during procedures.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established guidelines.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging techniques and protocols.
- Educate and provide clear instructions to patients about the procedure and any necessary preparations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Stay current on industry advancements and new technologies, and implement them as appropriate.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of radioactive materials.
- Assist with training and supervision of students and trainees in nuclear medicine technology.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to patient confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in relevant department meetings and continuing education activities.
- Maintain professional development and certification requirements.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing MedStar Health to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the supervisor or department leadership.
Certification From The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb) Or American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Center.
Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Proficient In Using Nuclear Medicine Equipment And Software, As Well As Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Medical Staff.
