Job Description

At MedStar Health, we are looking for a Nuclear Med Technologist - PRN to provide critical medical services to our patients. The ideal candidate should have a passion for healthcare, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. This position requires a State of Maryland Nuclear Medicine Technologist license and graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Critical thinking skills, knowledge of radiation safety, and experience working in nuclear medicine are also required. In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of a professional healthcare team, while providing outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform nuclear medicine procedures according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  2. Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, as needed.
  3. Monitor and record radiation safety in the nuclear medicine environment.
  4. Prepare and maintain equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting.
  5. Provide patient care in a professional and compassionate manner.
  6. Ensure accuracy of patient records and data.
  7. Maintain knowledge of current nuclear medicine procedures and safety regulations.
  8. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide high quality patient care.
  9. Assist in the training of new nuclear medicine technologists.
  10. Adhere to all MedStar Health policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology

  • Certification From The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb) Or American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Nuclear Medicine

  • Knowledge Of Nuclear Medicine Procedures

  • Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Regulations

  • Ability To Maintain Accurate Records And Reports

  • Ability To Multi-Task And Prioritize Clinical Assignments
