- Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures on patients with suspected or confirmed neurological disorders.
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Accurately record and interpret test results, and communicate findings to the medical team.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans based on test results.
- Maintain and operate neurodiagnostic equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition during testing procedures.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the diagnostic process and procedures.
- Keep accurate records of patient information and test results in electronic health record systems.
- Stay current with advancements and changes in neurodiagnostic technology and techniques through ongoing training and education.
- Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality regulations when handling patient information.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for patients by providing exceptional customer service.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Certification As A Neurodiagnostic Technologist: Applicants Should Hold Current Certification Through The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret) As A Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. Eeg T.) Or Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (R. Ep T.).
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In A Related Field Such As Neuroscience, Biology, Or Psychology Is Preferred For This Position.
Experience With Neurodiagnostic Procedures: Previous Experience Performing Electroencephalograms (Eegs), Nerve Conduction Studies (Ncss), And Evoked Potentials (Eps) Is Highly Desired For This Role.
Knowledge Of Equipment And Software: Candidates Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Neurodiagnostic Equipment And Software, Including Eeg Amplifiers, Polysomnography Systems, And Emg Machines.
Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Neurodiagnostic Technician At Medstar Health, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. Candidates Should Also Have Strong Teamwork Skills And Be Able To Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Team.
