Job Description

If so, MedStar Health is looking for a dedicated and skilled Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our team.   1. Conduct neurodiagnostic tests: Perform a variety of neurodiagnostic tests, including electroencephalograms (EEG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and evoked potentials (EP), to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions.
  2. Set up and maintain equipment: Ensure all equipment is properly set up and maintained, including cleaning and calibrating machines, to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  3. Monitor patient reactions: Monitor patient reactions and vital signs during tests, recognizing any abnormalities and taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
  4. Collaborate with medical team: Work closely with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely test results, as well as assist with patient care and treatment plans.
  5. Educate patients: Explain procedures and answer any questions patients may have about the tests and their purpose, helping to alleviate any fears or concerns.
  6. Maintain accurate records: Document all test results accurately and maintain detailed records of patient information, including medical history and test findings.
  7. Troubleshoot issues: Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during testing, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols: Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including infection control measures, to maintain a safe and clean testing environment for patients and staff.
  9. Stay current with industry advancements: Keep up-to-date with advancements in neurodiagnostic technology and techniques, and apply them to improve the quality and efficiency of testing.
  10. Continuously improve processes: Suggest and implement improvements to testing processes, equipment, and protocols to enhance patient care and overall efficiency.

Job Qualifications
  • Formal Education And Training In Neurodiagnostic Technology, Such As A Certificate Or Associate's Degree In Neurodiagnostic Technology Or Related Field.

  • Current Certification As A Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. Eeg T.) Or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Through Abret Or Brpt.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Performing And Interpreting Neurodiagnostic Tests, Including Eeg, Emg, And/Or Sleep Studies.

  • Knowledge Of Various Neurological Disorders And Ability To Recognize Abnormal Findings On Diagnostic Tests.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
