
Neurodiagnostic Technician

- Perform neurodiagnostic procedures: Conduct a variety of neurodiagnostic tests and procedures, such as electroencephalograms (EEGs), evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, and sleep studies, according to established protocols and standards.
- Prepare patients for procedures: Greet patients, explain procedures, and answer any questions they may have. Ensure patients are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process. Obtain and record patient medical history and vital signs.
- Operate neurodiagnostic equipment: Set up and calibrate equipment, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues as needed. Ensure equipment is functioning properly and accurately record test results.
- Analyze and interpret data: Review test results and identify any abnormal findings. Communicate findings to the appropriate healthcare providers and document them accurately in patient records.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment: Follow infection control and safety protocols. Keep work areas clean and well-organized. Dispose of hazardous materials and contaminated supplies in accordance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care plans.
- Educate patients: Explain test results to patients and their families and provide education on procedures, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments: Attend conferences, workshops, and other educational opportunities to stay current on the latest neurodiagnostic techniques, equipment, and trends.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards: Follow all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Provide exceptional patient care: Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with patients and their families. Strive to enhance the patient experience and provide high-quality care at all times.
Certification As A Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist (R.ndt) By The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret).
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Performing And Interpreting Eegs, Evoked Potentials, And Other Neurodiagnostic Procedures.
Proficiency In Using State-Of-The-Art Neurodiagnostic Equipment, Including Digital Eeg Systems And Evoked Potential Machines.
Strong Knowledge Of Neuroanatomy, Neurophysiology, And Neuropharmacology.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
