Job Description

At MedStar Health, our Monitoring Technicians play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. We are looking for a compassionate, experienced, and detail-oriented Monitoring Technician who is passionate about providing quality care and upholding our high standards. To be successful in this role, you must be able to maintain constant vigilance and respond to alarms quickly and competently.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology. They must be able to consistently demonstrate sound judgment and be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Furthermore, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this role, as the Monitoring Technician will be interacting with both patients and physicians on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor patient vital signs and respond quickly to changes in patients’ conditions.
  2. Maintain patient records and document any changes in patient condition.
  3. Follow established protocols for responding to alarms and medical emergencies.
  4. Ensure patient safety by monitoring for signs of falls, seizures, and other medical emergencies.
  5. Assist medical staff with patient care and treatment plans.
  6. Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infection.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and medical professionals.
  8. Provide compassionate and supportive patient care.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
