- Perform a variety of complex laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and analyze samples using various laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Monitor quality control procedures and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for specimen handling and processing.
- Ensure all tests are performed in a timely manner to meet patient care needs.
- Communicate results to healthcare providers and collaborate with them on patient care plans.
- Document and maintain accurate records of all tests and procedures performed.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Stay up-to-date with advances in laboratory technology and techniques.
- Assist in training and mentoring new laboratory personnel.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and actively contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Medical Laboratory Science Is Essential For This Role. A Bachelor's Degree In This Field Shows The Candidate Has A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Techniques.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls): This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Proficiency In All Areas Of Laboratory Science, Including Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry, And Immunology.
Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: Candidates With Prior Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting Will Have A Better Understanding Of The Daily Operations And Protocols Required In A Medical Laboratory.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Medical Laboratory Scientists Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Perform Tasks With A High Level Of Accuracy. This Is Crucial For Ensuring Accurate Test Results And Patient Diagnoses.
