
Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine
MedStar Health is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Medical Assistant passionate about providing quality patient care to join our Internal Medicine team! We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to provide outstanding service to our patients. The ideal candidate for this role will have prior experience as a Medical Assistant in an Internal Medicine setting and be certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT). Responsibilities:
• Provide quality patient care to patients in the Internal Medicine setting.
• Utilize excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Greet and assist patients during the check-in process.
• Collect and record patient information, including medical history, vital signs, and test results.
• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and set up medical equipment.
• Administer prescribed medications and vaccinations.
• Assist medical staff with examinations and treatments.
• Answer patient questions and provide education on medical topics.
• Maintain records, both electronic and paper, of patient care.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensure that all medical instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain patient schedules.
• Perform clerical duties, such as filing, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) Certification
Minimum Two Years Relevant Experience In A Medical Office Setting
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Anatomy
Ability To Maintain Patient Confidentiality
Ability To Use Medical Software And Electronic Medical Records
