Job Description

MedStar Health is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Medical Assistant to join our Cardiac Vascular Surgery team. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is looking to make a real impact in patient care by providing top-notch patient care and administrative support. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering the highest standard of care.The Medical Assistant will assist in the performance of patient care activities, including patient assessments, vital signs, health histories, and other duties as assigned. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining the clerical duties associated with the Cardiac Vascular Surgery Department.Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA)• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience in Cardiac Vascular Surgery• Proven ability to work with a diverse patient population• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems• Excellent communication and customer service skills• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail• Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities: • Perform patient assessments, vital signs, and health histories. • Maintain the clerical duties associated with the Cardiac Vascular Surgery Department. • Assist in the performance of patient care activities, as assigned. • Utilize electronic medical record systems for patient documentation and data entry. • Provide excellent customer service to all patients. • Handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload. • Utilize strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
