
Lactation Consultant

- Provide lactation support and guidance to new mothers during their breastfeeding journey.
- Educate and inform new mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby.
- Assist with any breastfeeding difficulties or challenges that new mothers may face.
- Develop personalized care plans for each breastfeeding mother based on their individual needs.
- Conduct assessments to determine the best course of action for each patient.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of patient interactions and progress.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in lactation support.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Act as a resource for colleagues and provide support and guidance to other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with clear and concise information.
- Uphold the values and mission of MedStar Health in all interactions.
Certified Lactation Consultant (Clc) Or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc) Credential.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Maternal Health, Specifically In Lactation Support.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices In Lactation Care.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Educate And Support New Mothers And Their Families.
