- Prepare and process samples for testing according to established protocols and procedures.
- Perform quality control checks and maintain accurate records of all test results.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with laboratory team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate test results.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines in the performance of laboratory duties.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of current laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field: Applicants Should Have A Degree In A Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Medical Laboratory Science To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Job.
Experience In A Laboratory Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Laboratory, Whether Through Internships, Research, Or Employment, Is Highly Desirable As It Demonstrates A Candidate's Familiarity With Lab Procedures And Equipment.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Techniques And Procedures: A Laboratory Assistant Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Scientific Principles And Be Proficient In A Variety Of Laboratory Techniques, Such As Microscopy, Pipetting, And Sample Preparation.
Attention To Detail: Laboratory Work Requires A High Level Of Precision And Accuracy, So Candidates Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail And Be Able To Follow Instructions Carefully.
