  1. Provide administrative support to the emergency services department, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, and maintaining patient records.
  2. Assist with triaging and prioritizing patient needs, ensuring that urgent cases are addressed promptly.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth operations within the department.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with necessary information and support during their time in the emergency department.
  5. Participate in training and educational programs to stay updated on emergency healthcare procedures and protocols.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that necessary supplies and equipment are readily available.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient privacy regulations.
  8. Monitor and stock inventory of medical supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or malfunctions.
  9. Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations as needed.
  10. Act as a liaison between the emergency services department and other departments within the hospital to facilitate efficient and effective communication and coordination of care.
  11. Display a strong commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients in crisis.
  12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by superiors or as necessary to meet the needs of the department.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Emergency Services Support Assistant At Medstar Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education To Perform Administrative Tasks.

  • Prior Administrative Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Prior Administrative Experience, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Emergency Services Setting. Candidates Should Be Familiar With Medical Terminology And Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Emergency Responders And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Strong Organizational And Multitasking Skills: The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Manage Multiple Projects, And Maintain A High Level Of Organization Is Essential For This Role. Emergency Situations Can Be Unpredictable, And The Support Assistant Must Be Able To Adapt And Handle Shifting Priorities.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Critical In Emergency Situations.
