
Document Imaging Technician

- Scan and index all patient medical records into the electronic database.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all scanned documents.
- Organize and maintain electronic database of patient records.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and colleagues to obtain necessary documents.
- Prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and ensure timely processing of documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information and records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with scanning or indexing process.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline document imaging processes.
- Keep up-to-date with any changes or updates to document imaging technology and procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies and regulations regarding document imaging and record-keeping.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues regarding document imaging inquiries.
- Perform quality checks and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of scanned documents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while handling sensitive patient information.
- Continuously strive for efficiency and accuracy in document imaging processes.
Knowledge Of Document Imaging Technology: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Document Imaging Technology, Including Scanning, Indexing, And Storage Systems. This Includes Proficiency In Software Such As Adobe Acrobat And Document Management Systems Like Onbase.
Attention To Detail: A Document Imaging Technician Needs To Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate And Complete Scanning And Indexing Of Medical Records. This Includes Being Able To Identify Errors Or Inconsistencies And Take Corrective Action.
Hipaa Compliance: Medstar Health Places A High Priority On Patient Privacy And Confidentiality. Therefore, Candidates For This Position Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations And Be Able To Maintain Compliance In All Aspects Of Document Imaging.
Organizational Skills: Document Imaging Technicians Are Responsible For Managing A High Volume Of Medical Records And Ensuring They Are Stored And Indexed Correctly. The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Manage Time Effectively, And Maintain An Organized Workspace Is Essential For Success In This Role.
Communication Skills: As Part Of The Document Imaging Process, Technicians May Need To Communicate With Other Healthcare Professionals, Patients, And Administrative Staff. Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Convey Information And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.
