Job Description

MedStar Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Patient Safety, Risk & Claims to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Patient Safety, Risk & Claims Departments and will be accountable for designing and implementing patient safety initiatives, developing risk assessment protocols, and managing related activities and processes. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and managing complex projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and effectively coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.The ideal candidate will possess a combination of exceptional managerial, strategic planning, problem-solving, and communication skills. A thorough understanding of risk management practices, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care are essential. The Director will be a leader in promoting a culture of safety and excellence and must have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of staff.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health administration, or related field• 5+ years of experience in a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland• Advanced knowledge of risk management and patient safety principles• Demonstrated knowledge of clinical quality improvement initiatives• Superior organizational, analytical, and communication skills• Ability to develop and implement innovative strategies and solutions• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlinesIf you are an experienced professional looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients, we invite you to apply to join our team.
