Director of Nursing- Perioperative Services

MedStar Health is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Director of Nursing- Perioperative Services. The ideal candidate will be an effective leader with a passion for excellence in patient care and a commitment to promoting a positive work environment. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of nursing management experience in a hospital setting, preferably in the perioperative services department. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution and be licensed to practice in Maryland. A Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is preferred. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of perioperative services, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage financial, operational, and personnel issues. Additionally, the candidate should have a proven track record of implementing innovative programs and initiatives that have improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic goals and objectives for the Perioperative Services department

• Ensure that all policies and procedures are in compliance with state and federal regulations

• Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes in the Perioperative Services department

• Manage financial, operational, and personnel issues in the department

• Monitor department performance and implement initiatives to increase efficiency

• Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective delivery of patient care

• Ensure that all staff members are trained and knowledgeable of new regulations

• Facilitate communication between staff members and other departments

• Engage in professional development and stay current on trends in the field of perioperative services
