
Deputy Radiation Safety Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Radiation Safety Officer to join our Radiation Safety Team and help ensure our organization remains in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.The Deputy Radiation Safety Officer will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of day-to-day radiation safety operations at our healthcare facilities. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills.The ideal candidate will possess:• Bachelor’s degree in a related field;• At least 5 years’ experience in radiation safety;• Certified Health Physicist (CHP) or equivalent certification;• Knowledge of applicable radiation safety rules and regulations;• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills;• Excellent communication and customer service skills.If you are eager to join a team of dedicated radiation safety experts and are committed to making a real impact on patient safety and quality of care, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities of the Deputy Radiation Safety Officer:
- Assist the Radiation Safety Officer in the oversight of day-to-day radiation safety operations at MedStar Health.
- Ensure organization is compliant with all federal, state, and local radiation safety regulations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs in radiation safety.
- Monitor radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Investigate and document radiation safety incidents and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Prepare and submit radiation safety reports and other documentation as required.
- Provide advice and technical assistance to other departments in radiation safety matters.
- Participate in radiation monitoring and survey activities.
- Maintain records of radiation exposure and dose information.
- Serve as a resource to staff and patients on radiation safety topics.
- Participate in radiation safety meetings, seminars, and training programs.
- Research and stay abreast of the latest developments in radiation safety regulations and technology.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
