  1. Collaborate with individuals, families, and community organizations to identify and address health-related needs.
  2. Build relationships and trust with members of the community to effectively advocate for their health needs.
  3. Educate and empower community members about health-related issues and available resources.
  4. Conduct outreach and engage with underserved populations to ensure access to healthcare services.
  5. Develop and implement health education programs and initiatives in collaboration with community partners.
  6. Conduct assessments and gather data to identify community health needs and track progress.
  7. Provide support and resources to individuals and families to help them navigate the healthcare system.
  8. Advocate for policy and system changes to improve community health outcomes.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of interactions and outcomes.
  10. Stay informed about current health issues and trends in the community to inform advocacy efforts.
  11. Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within MedStar Health to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for community members.
  13. Serve as a liaison between community members and healthcare providers to facilitate communication and improve health outcomes.
  14. Act as a positive and professional representative of MedStar Health in the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Public Health Or A Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Public Health Principles And Theories Is Necessary For A Community Health Advocate To Effectively Promote Health And Prevent Disease Within A Community.

  • Experience Working In A Community Setting: Previous Experience Working With Diverse Populations In A Community Setting Is Essential For Understanding The Unique Needs And Challenges Of The Community And Developing Effective Health Promotion Strategies.

  • Knowledge Of Health Education And Promotion Techniques: A Community Health Advocate Should Possess Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Health Education And Promotion Techniques, Such As Behavior Change Theories And Community Mobilization Strategies, To Effectively Engage And Empower Community Members.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Build Relationships With Individuals From Diverse Backgrounds Is Crucial For A Community Health Advocate To Effectively Advocate For The Health Needs Of The Community.
