  • Accurately code and bill medical services in accordance with coding guidelines and regulations
  • Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing
  • Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding
  • Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with billing and finance teams to resolve any coding-related issues or discrepancies
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all coded services
  • Identify potential coding errors or discrepancies and report them to the appropriate parties for resolution
  • Utilize coding software and systems to accurately code and bill medical services
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on proper coding practices and regulations
  • Participate in regular training and education sessions to stay current on coding updates and changes
  • Contribute to the overall success and compliance of MedStar Health by accurately coding and billing medical services.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Large Healthcare System.

  • Proficient Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.

  • Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Health Record Systems And Coding Software, Such As Epic Or 3M Encoder.
