- Accurately code and bill medical services in accordance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding
- Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with billing and finance teams to resolve any coding-related issues or discrepancies
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all coded services
- Identify potential coding errors or discrepancies and report them to the appropriate parties for resolution
- Utilize coding software and systems to accurately code and bill medical services
- Provide guidance and support to other team members on proper coding practices and regulations
- Participate in regular training and education sessions to stay current on coding updates and changes
- Contribute to the overall success and compliance of MedStar Health by accurately coding and billing medical services.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Large Healthcare System.
Proficient Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.
Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
Familiarity With Electronic Health Record Systems And Coding Software, Such As Epic Or 3M Encoder.
