Job Description

We are searching for a dynamic and committed Clinical Pharmacist - Emergency Medicine to join our Emergency Medicine team at MedStar Health. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care to our patients. You will provide clinical services, including drug management, therapeutic drug monitoring, formulary management, and patient education.We are seeking an individual who is passionate about patient care and has a strong commitment to providing quality pharmaceutical care services. The successful candidate should have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy, be board certified or eligible to practice pharmacy in the state, and have at least two years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical services, including drug management, therapeutic drug monitoring, formulary management, and patient education.
  2. Develop therapeutic plans based on patient medical history, drug allergies, and other relevant factors.
  3. Monitor patient medication regimens and adjust dosages as needed.
  4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
  5. Participate in development and implementation of policies and procedures related to pharmacy services.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  7. Educate patients and families on proper medication use and potential side effects.
  8. Maintain accurate patient records and document all medication related activities.
  9. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills

  • Doctor Of Pharmacy Degree (Pharmd) From An Accredited College Of Pharmacy

  • Board Certified In Pharmacotherapy

  • Minimum Of One Year Of Experience In A Clinical Setting

  • Previous Experience In Emergency Medicine Or Critical Care Pharmacy Practice

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With Physicians And Other Healthcare Staff

  • Ability To Make Complex Medication Decisions In A Timely Manner.
