  1. Provide expert assistance during surgical procedures as a Certified Surgical First Assistant.
  2. Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly prepared and sterilized before each procedure.
  3. Assist surgical team in positioning and preparing patient for surgery.
  4. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures and provide necessary instruments and supplies.
  5. Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
  6. Monitor and document patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration.
  7. Collaborate with surgical team to ensure efficient and timely completion of procedures.
  8. Assist with wound closure and dressing application.
  9. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and follow-up instructions.
  10. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures and patient information.
  11. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities.
  12. Keep abreast of current trends and advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor to other team members, including surgical technologists and nurses.
  14. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and uphold ethical standards in all aspects of job performance.
  15. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience As A Surgical First Assistant In A Hospital Or Surgical Center Setting.

  • Certification As A Certified Surgical First Assistant (Csfa) Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Knowledge Of A Variety Of Surgical Procedures, Techniques, And Equipment.

  • Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Proficiency In Sterile Technique And Infection Control Protocols.
