Job Description

At MedStar Health, we believe in providing the highest quality of care to our patients, and we are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team on a PRN basis. As a Certified Athletic Trainer, you will play a vital role in helping our patients achieve their optimal physical performance, prevent injuries, and recover from injuries. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who is committed to providing exceptional care and has a strong understanding of athletic training principles.   1. Provide athletic training services to patients on a PRN basis, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  2. Create and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals.
  3. Communicate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated care for patients.
  4. Educate patients on proper techniques and exercises to prevent injuries and improve performance.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  6. Monitor and document patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current trends, techniques, and research in athletic training to continuously improve patient care.
  8. Adhere to all legal, ethical, and safety standards and regulations related to athletic training.
  9. Maintain and organize athletic training equipment and supplies.
  10. Provide emergency care in the event of an on-field injury or medical emergency.
  11. Participate in community outreach events and educational programs to promote the importance and benefits of athletic training.
  12. Collaborate with coaches and athletic staff to ensure the safety and well-being of athletes.
  13. Maintain professional certifications and licensure as required by the state.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve the athletic training program at MedStar Health.
  15. Act as a positive and professional representative of MedStar Health at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field

  • Certification As An Athletic Trainer Through The Board Of Certification (Boc)

  • Current State Licensure Or Eligibility For Licensure In The State Of Employment

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Athletic Training, Preferably In A Clinical Or Sports Setting

  • Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Or Ability To Obtain Within 3 Months Of Hire Date
