Central Transport Assistant

- Safely and efficiently transport patients, supplies, and equipment throughout the facilities.
- Ensure timely arrival of patients to scheduled appointments and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate transport needs.
- Maintain accurate records of all transport activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Keep track of inventory and restock supplies as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff.
- Assist with patient transfers and transfers to other facilities as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of transport equipment.
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient transport operations.
- Keep abreast of any changes in transport protocols and procedures.
- Report any issues or concerns to the transport supervisor or appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attend required trainings and meetings as directed by the supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of General Education Subjects, Such As Math, English, And Science.
Prior Experience In Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Medical Office, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Experience Can Include Working As A Transport Assistant, Medical Assistant, Or Any Other Related Position.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For A Central Transport Assistant. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Team Members.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: This Job Requires A Significant Amount Of Physical Activity, Including Pushing And Lifting Heavy Equipment, And Walking Long Distances. As Such, Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Basic Medical Knowledge: Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Basic Medical Procedures Is A Plus For This Position. This Can Include Knowledge Of Patient Transport Procedures, Proper Body Mechanics, And Infection Control Protocols. Candidates Can Demonstrate This Knowledge Through Prior Work Experience Or Relevant Coursework.
