1. Assist cardiac surgeons in performing surgical procedures by providing necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
2. Ensure all necessary equipment is properly sterilized and functioning prior to procedures.
3. Maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
4. Monitor patient vitals and communicate any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
5. Prepare and position patients for surgery, including prepping and draping the surgical area.
6. Assist in closing surgical incisions and applying dressings.
7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures and patient care.
8. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions and answer any questions or concerns.
9. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
10. Keep up to date with advancements in cardiac surgery techniques and equipment.
11. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
12. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the surgical process.
