Behavioral Health Therapist

1. Conducting individual and group therapy sessions for patients with various mental health and behavioral concerns.
2. Developing and implementing treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
3. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses to provide comprehensive care to patients.
4. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
5. Conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
6. Educating patients and their families about mental health and behavioral health disorders, treatment options, and coping strategies.
7. Providing crisis intervention and support to patients in acute distress.
8. Staying informed about current research and developments in the field of behavioral health and implementing new techniques and interventions as appropriate.
9. Maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to ethical guidelines in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
10. Participating in regular supervision and training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
11. Actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of best practices within the department.
12. Representing MedStar Health and the Behavioral Health department in a professional and positive manner at all times.
13. Adhering to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality, safety, and infection control.
14. Demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the job.
