Art Therapist

MedStar Health is seeking an experienced Art Therapist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for providing compassionate care while encouraging our patients to explore their emotions through art. Our ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and be registered with the Art Therapy Credentialing Board with current license to practice in the state of Maryland. Furthermore, the successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The MedStar Health Art Therapist will be responsible for providing art therapy treatments to patients of all ages suffering from mental, physical, and emotional illnesses. The successful candidate will be a creative, patient-focused professional that strives to improve the lives of our patients.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide art therapy treatments to patients of all ages suffering from mental, physical, and emotional illnesses.
2. Utilize creative methods to encourage exploration of emotions through art.
3. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. Work effectively as part of a team.
5. Ensure compliance with the Art Therapy Credentialing Board and current license to practice in the state of Maryland.
6. Maintain patient records and document progress.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best care for patients.
8. Develop and implement innovative art therapy techniques.
9. Remain current on advances in the field of art therapy.
10. Attend professional meetings and seminars.
