Acute Care Occupational Therapist

MedStar Health is seeking an Acute Care Occupational Therapist to provide quality occupational therapy services to our patients. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate professional who is eager to make a difference in the lives of others. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Occupational Therapy and must be certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). The successful applicant will also have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the acute care setting and a strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and patient assessment. The Acute Care Occupational Therapist will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively collaborate with other members of the healthcare team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is committed to providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide quality occupational therapy services to patients, including assessments and interventions.
2. Utilize evidence-based practice and patient assessment techniques.
3. Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
4. Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.
5. Educate patients and their families on the benefits of occupational therapy and how to properly use assistive devices.
6. Monitor and document progress of the patient’s recovery.
7. Ensure all relevant regulations and standards are met.
8. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
9. Attend continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest developments in the field of occupational therapy.
