Coding Specialist

The Certified Coding Specialist is responsible for coding of referrals for medical necessity review. Will involve close working relationship with physicians and department staff. The Coding Specialist will review documentation for accurate CPT/HCPCS codes and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and compliance with government regulations. Assists in formulation recommendations based upon the findings and communicates them to the appropriate personnel. The Coding Specialist will maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and keep operations informed of all regulatory changes and updates.
