
Assistant General Counsel, Employment

As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you will work closely with our internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, while also managing legal risks and protecting our firm's reputation. - Provide legal advice and guidance to the firm on a variety of employment law matters, including but not limited to, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, employee benefits, and employment contracts.
- Stay up-to-date on global employment laws and regulations to ensure the firm's compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as HR and management, to develop and implement employment policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and best practices.
- Manage employment-related disputes, investigations, and litigation, working closely with outside counsel when necessary.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support the firm's decision-making processes and provide recommendations on complex legal issues.
- Advise on global mobility and immigration matters, including visa applications and work permits.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees and managers to promote understanding and compliance with employment laws.
- Participate in the negotiation and drafting of employment-related contracts and agreements.
- Maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as government agencies and legal counsel, to stay informed of changes in employment laws and regulations.
- Represent the firm in external forums and industry events related to employment law.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team to ensure consistency and alignment in legal advice and strategies.
- Uphold the firm's values and ethical standards while promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Proactively identify potential legal issues and provide solutions to mitigate risks and protect the firm's reputation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the firm's employment-related policies and practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience Practicing Employment Law At A Top-Tier Law Firm Or In-House Legal Department.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal And State Employment Laws, Including But Not Limited To Title Vii, Fmla, Ada, And Flsa.
Experience Advising On Complex Employment Matters, Such As Discrimination And Harassment Claims, Wage And Hour Disputes, And Non-Compete Agreements.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Advise And Collaborate With Colleagues At All Levels Of The Organization.
Juris Doctor Degree From An Accredited Law School And Active Membership In Good Standing With The Bar In At Least One State.
