- Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all company vehicles to ensure they are in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze fleet performance, including fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and overall efficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize fleet performance and reduce costs.
- Manage and maintain fleet inventory, including purchasing and disposing of vehicles as needed.
- Ensure all drivers are properly trained and licensed to operate company vehicles.
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule and assign vehicles for company use.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and ensure quality service at competitive prices.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in fleet management technology, and make recommendations for implementation as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all fleet-related activities, including vehicle maintenance, repairs, and accidents.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to fleet operations.
- Manage and coach a team of fleet technicians and drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and development.
- Communicate regularly with company leadership to provide updates on fleet performance, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
- Uphold the company's values and maintain a positive and professional image of the fleet department within the organization.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Fleet Management, Preferably In A Food Manufacturing Or Distribution Environment.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Make Data-Driven Decisions.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team Of Drivers And Maintain Relationships With Vendors.
Knowledge Of Dot Regulations, Vehicle Maintenance Best Practices, And Experience Managing A Large Fleet Of Trucks And/Or Other Types Of Vehicles.
