
Transplant Pulmonologist
Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Transplant Pulmonologist to join the team in providing excellent patient care and advancing medical knowledge. The successful candidate must have a strong background in pulmonary medicine, including a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, board certification in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease, and fellowship training in Transplant Pulmonology. Additionally, this individual should possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The Transplant Pulmonologist will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team of Mayo Clinic experts, and will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with pulmonary diseases in need of transplantation. Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients with pulmonary diseases in need of transplantation.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and conditions affecting the lungs and airways.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to develop a comprehensive care plan for each patient.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as CT scans, pulmonary function tests, and bronchoscopies.
- Monitor the progress of patients pre- and post-transplantation.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families on lung disease and related treatments.
- Participate in research and clinical trials that advance medical knowledge and patient care.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with new developments and advances in pulmonary medicine.
- Document patient visits, treatments, and other medical information accurately.
