Technical Specialist I - Microbiology Lab

1. Perform and oversee a variety of laboratory tests in the Microbiology Lab, including but not limited to: culture and sensitivity testing, serological testing, molecular testing, and microbial identification.
2. Analyze and interpret test results accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reporting to healthcare providers.
3. Maintain and monitor quality control and assurance measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
4. Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure proper documentation and resolution.
5. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and accurate test results.
6. Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in microbiology and laboratory technology to continuously improve processes and procedures.
7. Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
8. Train and mentor junior laboratory staff to ensure proficiency in laboratory procedures and protocols.
9. Maintain accurate and organized records of all laboratory tests, results, and quality control measures.
10. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members to provide exceptional customer service.
11. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes and procedures.
12. Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined by the Mayo Clinic and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
