- Oversee the proper disposal and management of all waste materials in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and operate waste management systems, including but not limited to waste sorting and disposal equipment.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for our facilities by ensuring timely and efficient waste management processes.
- Collaborate with other members of the Waste Management team to develop and implement waste reduction strategies.
- Conduct regular inspections of waste management systems to identify and address any potential hazards or issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients, staff, and the community.
- Track and document all waste management activities, including waste disposal, recycling, and composting.
- Communicate with external waste management vendors to coordinate pickups and deliveries as needed.
- Train and educate staff on proper waste disposal and recycling practices to promote a culture of sustainability.
- Continuously monitor waste management operations and make recommendations for process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Knowledge Of Waste Management Regulations: A Systems Operator At Mayo Clinic Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Waste Management Regulations To Ensure Compliance And Proper Handling Of Waste Materials.
Experience With Waste Management Systems: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Operating Waste Management Systems, Such As Incinerators, Compactors, And Shredders, To Effectively Manage The Disposal Of Various Types Of Waste.
Attention To Detail: As A Systems Operator, Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Accurately Record And Track Waste Disposal Records, Ensure Proper Labeling And Segregation Of Waste, And Identify Any Potential Hazards Or Issues Within The Waste Management Process.
Physical Fitness: This Role May Require The Handling Of Heavy Or Hazardous Materials, As Well As Frequent Standing, Bending, And Lifting. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Safely Maneuver And Transport Waste Materials.
