  1. Answering incoming calls and transferring them to the appropriate department or individual.
  2. Greeting and directing patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Responding to inquiries and providing information about Mayo Clinic services and facilities.
  4. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of calls and messages.
  5. Monitoring and responding to emergency calls and codes.
  6. Assisting with scheduling appointments and managing call volumes.
  7. Collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient communication and patient care.
  8. Providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or complaints.
  9. Operating and troubleshooting the switchboard and other communication equipment.
  10. Adhering to confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive information.
  11. Keeping track of staff schedules and on-call lists.
  12. Training and mentoring new switchboard operators.
  13. Participating in team meetings and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
  14. Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  15. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
