  1. Provide exceptional patient care by performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing and treating eye conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  3. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  4. Stay up-to-date with advancements and developments in the field of Optometry.
  5. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to Optometry practice.
  6. Educate patients on proper eye care and treatment plans.
  7. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  8. Provide guidance and supervision to support staff, including Optometric Technicians and Assistants.
  9. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  10. Adhere to Mayo Clinic's mission, values, and code of conduct.
  11. Uphold patient confidentiality and maintain ethical standards.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  13. Continuously strive for personal and professional growth and development.
  14. Collaborate with other Optometrists within the department to ensure consistency in patient care.
  15. Attend and participate in relevant conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
  16. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  17. Represent Mayo Clinic in a positive and professional manner.
  18. Participate in on-call duties as needed.
  19. Provide exceptional customer service and patient satisfaction.
  20. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department or Clinic leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Optometry (Od) Degree From An Accredited Institution.

  • Active And Unrestricted State License To Practice Optometry.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Environment.

  • Strong Diagnostic Skills And Experience In Providing Comprehensive Eye Exams And Diagnosing And Treating Eye Diseases.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals And Provide Patient Education.
