  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Central Sterile Processing department.
  2. Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and direction.
  3. Ensure that all medical instruments and equipment are processed in a safe and efficient manner.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies as needed.
  6. Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to improve efficiency and maintain quality standards.
  7. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal protocols.
  8. Provide ongoing training and education to staff on new techniques, equipment, and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of sterilized instruments and equipment.
  10. Manage staff schedules and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage and timely completion of duties.
  11. Participate in performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
  12. Identify and address any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  13. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
  14. Maintain accurate records and reports related to department activities.
  15. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in sterilization techniques.
  16. Represent the Central Sterile Processing department in meetings and committees as needed.
  17. Uphold the values and standards of the Mayo Clinic in all aspects of the role.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Central Sterile Processing Or Related Field, With 1-2 Years In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role.

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Certification Through The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm) Or Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt) Certification Through The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd).

  • Strong Understanding Of Sterilization Methods, Infection Control Practices, And Regulatory Standards Related To Sterile Processing, Including Joint Commission And Osha Regulations.

  • Excellent Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Train, Motivate, And Manage A Team Of Sterile Processing Technicians.

  • Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals And Manage Multiple Tasks And Projects Simultaneously.
