High School Diploma Or Ged: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For This Role, Demonstrating A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge.
Sterile Processing Certification: A Nationally Recognized Sterile Processing Certification, Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt), Is Typically Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Individual Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Properly Handle And Process Medical Instruments And Equipment.
Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Sterilization Techniques, Such As Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Hydrogen Peroxide. They Should Also Be Familiar With Industry Standards And Guidelines For Proper Sterilization Procedures.
Attention To Detail: As A Sterile Processing Tech, Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensuring That All Medical Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Cleaned, Assembled, And Sterilized. This Includes Checking For Any Defects Or Damage To Instruments, And Maintaining Accurate Records Of All Items Processed.
