  1. Manage the Health Information Management System (HIMS) and ensure its smooth functioning.
  2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  3. Handle all aspects of record keeping, including proper documentation, storage, and retrieval.
  4. Train and educate staff on proper record keeping procedures and HIMS usage.
  5. Monitor and analyze data to identify any discrepancies or errors in patient records.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless flow of patient information.
  7. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in regulations related to health information management.
  8. Develop and implement protocols and procedures to ensure the security and confidentiality of patient information.
  9. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and identify areas for improvement.
  10. Troubleshoot any technical issues related to the HIMS and collaborate with IT department for resolution.
  11. Provide support to other departments in accessing and utilizing patient records.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the HIMS.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding their health information and privacy rights.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the overall functioning of the HIMS.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the Mayo Clinic and providing exceptional patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field

  • Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Certification

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably At A Large Academic Medical Center

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Electronic Health Record Systems, Particularly Epic

  • Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Compliance Laws And Regulations, Including Hipaa And Hitech.
