
Respiratory Therapy Assistant

- Assist respiratory therapists in administering respiratory treatments and therapies to patients.
- Monitor and record patient's vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the respiratory therapist.
- Educate patients on proper use of respiratory equipment and techniques for managing their condition.
- Clean and maintain respiratory equipment and ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of patient rooms and equipment for respiratory treatments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Adhere to all infection control protocols and safety measures.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during respiratory treatments.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development in the field of respiratory therapy.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements and changes in the field of respiratory therapy.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations of the healthcare organization.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while providing patient care.
- Assist in emergency situations and perform CPR if needed.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
- Collaborate with respiratory therapists to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Minimum Of High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education
Completion Of An Accredited Respiratory Therapy Assistant Program
Certification As A Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (Crtt)
Current Bls And Acls Certification
Previous Experience Working In A Respiratory Therapy Department, Preferably At A Hospital Or Medical Facility
