  1. Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages, backgrounds, and medical conditions.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Utilize strong clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and treat respiratory conditions in patients.
  4. Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatment, adjusting care plans as needed.
  5. Administer respiratory therapies and medications according to established protocols and physician orders.
  6. Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting all assessments, treatments, and interventions.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  9. Stay current on advancements and changes in respiratory care practices and technology through continued education and training.
  10. Demonstrate critical thinking skills in assessing patient needs and making appropriate decisions for patient care.
  11. Demonstrate a dedication to providing exceptional patient care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the respiratory therapy department.
  13. Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  14. Represent Mayo Clinic in a professional and compassionate manner at all times.
  15. Collaborate with other healthcare providers and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy From An Accredited Institution Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Thorough Understanding Of Respiratory Therapy Principles And Practices.

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) Certification: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Rrt Certification From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc). This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Requirements And Has The Knowledge And Skills To Perform As A Respiratory Therapist.

  • State Licensure: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid State License To Practice As A Respiratory Therapist. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The State's Requirements For Education, Training, And Competency In Respiratory Therapy.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Respiratory Therapist, Preferably In A Hospital Setting. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle A Variety Of Respiratory Conditions And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Successful Respiratory Therapist Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Medical Information In A Clear And Compassionate Manner And Collaborate With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
