- Conduct independent research in the field of enteric neuroscience and contribute to the overall goals of the Enteric Neuroscience Program at Mayo Clinic.
- Design and implement experiments to advance our understanding of the enteric nervous system and its role in various disease states.
- Analyze and interpret data using a variety of techniques and tools, and present findings at conferences and in publications.
- Collaborate with other members of the ENSP team and participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Keep up-to-date with current literature and developments in the field of neuroscience and apply that knowledge to ongoing research projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all experiments and results.
- Assist in the development and submission of grant proposals to secure funding for research projects.
- Mentor and supervise junior researchers, such as graduate students and laboratory technicians, and provide training and guidance as needed.
- Work closely with clinical colleagues to translate research findings into potential diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the laboratory and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Represent the ENSP and Mayo Clinic in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
- Continuously strive to improve and expand knowledge and skills through attending conferences, workshops, and other educational opportunities.
- Collaborate with other research groups and institutions to foster collaborations and advance the field of enteric neuroscience.
- Participate in outreach and educational activities to promote the ENSP and its research to the broader scientific community and general public.
- Embrace and contribute to the collaborative and dynamic culture of the ENSP and Mayo Clinic, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence and innovation in research.
Advanced Degree In Neuroscience Or Related Field: A Research Fellow At The Ensp Should Possess A Phd Or Equivalent Degree In Neuroscience Or A Related Field, Demonstrating A Strong Academic Background And Specialized Knowledge In The Field.
Research Experience In Enteric Neuroscience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Research Experience In Enteric Neuroscience, With A Strong Understanding Of The Nervous System And Its Interactions With The Gastrointestinal Tract.
Proficiency In Data Analysis And Interpretation: As A Research Fellow, The Ability To Analyze And Interpret Complex Data Sets Is Crucial. Proficiency In Statistical Analysis And Experience With Software Such As Spss Or Sas Is Preferred.
Strong Publication Record: A Successful Candidate For This Position Should Have A Strong Publication Record In The Field Of Enteric Neuroscience, Demonstrating Their Ability To Conduct High-Quality Research And Contribute To The Scientific Community.
