  1. Provide specialized and compassionate care to patients recovering from surgical procedures on the Surgical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team.
  2. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications and treatments, and communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  4. Educate patients and their families on post-surgical care, medication regimens, and self-care techniques.
  5. Utilize critical thinking skills to anticipate and address potential complications or changes in patient condition.
  6. Accurately document patient information and maintain patient records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  7. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  8. Maintain a high level of professionalism and empathy when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
  9. Assist in the orientation and training of new team members, including nursing students and support staff.
  10. Stay updated on current medical practices and advancements in the surgical field to provide the highest quality care to patients.
  11. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or An Equivalent Degree From An Accredited Nursing Program.

  • Current, Active Rn Licensure In The State Of Employment.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Setting, Preferably In A Surgical Or Pcu Unit.

  • Advanced Certification In Surgical Nursing, Such As Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Cmsrn) Or Certified Perioperative Nurse (Cnor), Preferred.

  • Bls And Acls Certification Required, With Additional Certifications In Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Preferred.
