- Provide exceptional patient care to newborns and their families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families during a critical and emotional time.
- Utilize specialized skills and knowledge in caring for the unique needs of premature and critically ill infants.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Monitor and assess patient progress, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate and support families on caring for their newborns and preparing for discharge.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Keep current with advancements and best practices in neonatal care through continuing education and professional development.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Adhere to the ethical and professional standards of nursing practice.
- Represent the Mayo Clinic in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Practice.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Setting, Preferably In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu).
Certification In Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (Rnc-Nic) From The National Certification Corporation (Ncc).
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
