  1. Provide compassionate and skilled care to newborns in the Neonatal ICU.
  2. Attend to the physical and emotional needs of tiny patients and their families.
  3. Monitor and assess the condition of newborns, including vital signs and response to treatments.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Educate parents and family members on caring for their newborn and any necessary follow-up care.
  8. Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
  9. Stay up-to-date on best practices and advancements in neonatal care.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
  11. Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and families.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for improving patient care.
  13. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families to ensure their needs are met.
  14. Provide emotional support and guidance to families during difficult and stressful situations.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: Most Positions At Mayo Clinic Require A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, With A Focus On Neonatal Care.

  • Current Rn License: Candidates Must Possess A Valid And Current Rn License From The State In Which They Will Be Working.

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Certification (Rnc-Nic): This Certification Demonstrates Specialized Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Critically Ill Newborns.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Level Iii Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In A Level Iii Nicu, With A Focus On Providing Care To Premature And Critically Ill Newborns.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: The Role Of A Neonatal Icu Nurse At Mayo Clinic Requires Excellent Communication Skills To Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team, As Well As Critical Thinking Skills To Assess And Manage Complex Medical Situations.
